SBGames is the symposium of the Special Commission on Games and Digital Entertainment of the SBC (Brazilian Computer Society), which is also supported by the ABRAGames (Brazilian Association of Electronic Game Developers). The symposium started in 2002 with the name WJogos, mainly devoted to computing, and, since then it has been yearly organized enlarging its scope to include art, design and industry issues. In its current format, SBGames is composed by four tracks (SBGames - Computing; SBGames - Arts & Design; SBGames - Industry; SBGames - Education), two festivals (The Independent Games Festival and The Art Exhibition), technical posters and tutorials. The Education Track had its first edition in 2007. This will be the 7th. edition of SBGAMES. The Computing track presents full papers (oral presentation), technical posters and tutorials, whereas the Industry track offers panels and seminars. The Independent Games Festival presents sketches of working games in an informal and cheerful session dedicated to innovation, technique, imagination, and emergence of new talents. The Art Exhibition presents conceptual game designs, storyboards, experimental aspects of games, and pieces of electronic art for games, in a variety of media. For a list of possible topics see below. Submitted papers of up to 10 pages should be formatted according to the SBGames publication guidelines which will be available at http://www.inf.pucminas.br/sbgames08/ All contributions must be original, unpublished work and should not exceed 10 pages. Any work that has previously been published or simultaneously been submitted in substantially similar form to any other conference or journal will be rejected. For research work which is not yet mature enough we suggest to submit to the Technical Posters track of SBGames. Papers may be written in English or Portuguese, but preferably in English. **** ATTENTION **** Anonymous submissions (double blind review) will be made electronically through the SBC JEMS online submission system: https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/home.cgi?c=737 (In just a few days it will be open for submissions) Accepted papers will be published in the Proceedings, and at least one author must be registered, attend and present the work at the conference. >>> NEW THIS YEAR!
